The ROGTEC Interview: Paul Brickman from Aggreko

What is your position in the company and how long have you held this?
Country Manager Russia for 2 years. I provide the link to our established European business for our Russian team. Aggreko Russia is now a key part of Aggreko's European business.

How long have you been in business in Russia and the Caspian?
We have had a legal entity in Russia for over a year now and we have been supporting customers in Russia since 2004.

What companies have you worked with in the Region?
We are working with two major oil and gas service groups for one of Russia's leading oil companies, along with major oil & gas construction players and one of the state owned energy infrastructure network companies.

What is your most recent success in the market?
A 20MVA commissioning load test on a major offshore platform.

Have you and any recent product launches for the region?
We are predominately involved with temporary power and load-testing. However, this summer we have seen an increased demand for our temporary cooling solutions in industry.

What is your favourite band and track?
The Who, "Won't Get Fooled Again".

Where in the world would you most like to visit and why?
Australia. They speak English and take sport such as Rugby and Cricket very seriously.

What is your favourite sport, and what team do you support?
Cricket, I support my local side Chorley in the Northwest of England .

What are your thoughts on the Russian oil and gas market through to the end of this year and beyond?
We anticipate a rush of activity late in Q4 for many projects, with so many investment decisions being postponed in 2009 due to energy price uncertainty. A growth in the independent oil field services companies as the Russian majors start to focus on core production activities and an increasing levels of construction in large offshore gas production facilities. We see an increase in the reliance of rental assets as companies jettison non-core assets from their balance sheets and seek better use of cash.
