Friday, May 13th, 2011

The 2011 Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference takes place 7-10 June in Baku. It is expected that the exhibition will be opened again by the President of Azerbaijan,
HE President Aliyev and held at the new Baku Expo Center. The conference will be on 8-9 June at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The conference opening session will look at how the Caspian Region is re-shaping world energy dynamics and, in addition to a keynote speech by Azeri Energy Minister Natik Aliyev, highlights will include Matthew Bryza, recently appointed US Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Richard Morningstar, Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Issues at the US Department of State. Gunther Oettinger, EU Commissioner for Energy will speak from a European perspective.

The conference programme features a number of new topics, including oil and gas processing; petrochemicals; future joint projects and new subsea technologies. Flare metering company Fluenta is a new addition to the list of conference sponsors and will be included amongst the speakers.

New exhibitors at Caspian Oil & Gas this year include a German National Group, encompassing 17 different companies all looking to expand their operations in the Caspian Region. Other first time exhibiting companies include Malaysian NOC, Petronas and the Dutch machinery manufacturer, Mammoet. Rosneft are also making a welcome return.

ITE Oil & Gas Director, Graeme Coombes commented:

“Caspian Oil & Gas is again demonstrating its strength as a regional international meeting point for the oil and gas industry. We have again secured leading global figures as conference speakers and at the same time we are attracting new conference sponsors and exhibitors. Azerbaijan’s successful weathering of the global financial downturn makes it a dynamic regional force and helps Caspian Oil & Gas go from strength to strength.”

Also new to the exhibition this year is an ‘energy sector’ within the Baku Expo Center, which features major local and international energy companies, including Azenco, Goknur, Nexans and Tyco.
