Gazprom Neft will develop intelligent digital solutions for geology and oil production together with PwC in Russia . The Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Vadim Yakovlev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Management Committee, and Igor Lotakov, Managing Partner of PwC in Russia and Eurasia. In many of its business processes, Gazprom Neft uses self-learning programs, neural networks, artificial intelligence and advanced methods for processing large amounts of information. For example, in 2019, the world’s first self-learning digital system helped discover new oil reservoirs . At the Vyngapurovskoye field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, after analyzing more than 60 thousand parameters of geophysical studies, the program determined the location of the reserves from which the oil flow was obtained without creating additional infrastructure. The company also uses advanced digital solutions to optimize well drilling, control equipment operation in the fields, geological research and logistics. PwC Russia is actively expanding its competencies in digital technology development, successfully integrating this area into traditional business consulting. Serious investment in this area has attracted a large number of experienced digital experts, strengthening technology practice. The companies will establish joint centers of expertise for the development of technological and digital products for the oil and gas industry. Interaction on the basis of these centers will help combine the resources of Gazprom Neft and PwC in Russia to create new and develop existing technologies in the field of cognitive geology and digital tools for optimizing business processes. |
