QazaqGaz Starts Drilling a New Well at the Anabai field
QazaqGaz Exploration and Production LLP has started drilling well No. 17 at the Anabai field in order to uncover and extract gas from the Devonian productive horizon and increase the economic efficiency of field development, the press service of the national gas company reports.
In accordance with the Anabai field development project, it is planned to drill several production wells with a design depth of 3,500 m by the end of 2025. As part of the additional exploration activities, core sampling is provided with a set of standard and special studies to clarify the filtration and capacitance properties of reservoirs.
It should be noted that the national company QazaqGaz is taking measures to expand the resource base as part of the execution of the instruction of the Head of State, announced in the annual Address to the People of Kazakhstan, and in accordance with the company‘s development strategy.
As part of an agreement previously signed in China, the contractor is SIBU Engineering drilling company, specializing in the field of well construction.
The Anabai gas field in the Moyinkum district of Zhambyl region was put into operation in November 2023. QazaqGaz Exploration and Production LLP has equipped the field, mothballed three drilled wells, and built the Anabai – Zharkum gas pipeline.
