The Salym Group of oilfields are located 120km South West of Surgut and 30km West of Salym village in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug region.

The fields include West Salym, Upper Salym and Vadelyp. SPD N.V. holds the licences for development of the three Salym oilfields, with the License area totalling 2141.4sq km.

The recoverable C1+C2 category oil reserves approved by the Russian Federation State Committee on Reserves for the Salym fields amount to 152.6 million tonnes.

A total investment amounting to $1.4 billion for the Salym Project makes it one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the Russian energy sector.
