Gazprom Neft Improves Field Efficiency Using Artificial Intelligence
Gazprom Neft successfully tested its own digital system to improve the efficiency of oil production. The program allows you to analyze thousands of options for the development of deposits and select the best. According to estimates of its developers from the Scientific and Technical Center of the company, the economic effect from the introduction of a new digital product only at the pilot fields of Gazpromneft-Vostok and Slavneft-Megionneftegaz will be more than 500 million rubles over five years.
The intellectual system “ERA: OptimA” comprehensively optimizes the development of the field, allows you to choose the effective geometry of the location of new and operating modes of existing wells based on three-dimensional modeling. The pilot project was the reengineering of the Krapivinskoye Gazpromneft-Vostok field. The selected optimal asset development scenario will allow in the medium term to increase the project profitability by 300 million rubles. At the Achimovskoye Slavneft-Megionneftegaz field, a new digital tool offered an effective solution that will increase production by more than 8% and by 11% profit from the project.
Until now, oil operations have been performed manually. Evaluation of only one option took about a week. Now the system calculates economic indicators, and then calculates economic indicators.
The calculations showed that the options found by the system are 20–30% higher than the economic efficiency of the proposals formed on the basis of expert methods. A new digital assistant reduces the amount of routine operations performed by engineers when selecting options by 80%, and the optimization algorithm allows only potentially promising scenarios to be calculated.
ERA.OptimaA was developed as part of the ERA * (electronic asset development) direction of the Gazprom Neft Technology Strategy.
