Transforming the Drilling Market for the Future Benefit of Kazakhstan

Astana, Kazakhstan, 18th June 2015. TMG is proud to announce, in association with the Platinum Event Sponsor JSC NC KazMunayGas, the 1st KDR, Kazakh Drilling Roundtable, taking place in Astana on the 17th September 2015.

With the second largest oil production among the former Soviet Republics after Russia, Kazakhstan is at the forefront of the oil and gas sector in the Caspian.

The launch of the 1st KDR, the first in a series of niche technology events for the oil and gas sector in Kazakhstan, will be the perfect platform for regional operators and drilling contractors to meet directly and interact with service and technology vendors, research & development Institutes and academia to share knowledge, experience and to develop a better understanding of the technology challenges faced by the drilling industry.

As part of the transformation program, under the control of the Head of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC KazMunayGas has been given the task of increasing the company’s value by ensuring the growth of reserves and production, and increasing the profitability of their existing assets. This will be achieved by working in close, creative collaboration with all the companies and individuals involved within well construction, leading to increased efficiency and operational safety in each sector through the introduction of new technologies.

Jeffrey Karfunkle, Managing Director of Drilling & Services at JSC NC KazMunayGas, commented, “The 1st KDR will be a forum for Operators and leading regional and international drilling contractors to collaborate with engineers from service and technology companies. Discussions will focus on well construction, well completion and workover, and the implementation of new technologies, knowledge and experience sharing during the well construction phase in Kazakhstan”.
