2nd Unconventional Oil Russia Technology Conference – Date and Venue Confirmed

We are pleased to be able to announce that Russia’s premier unconventional oil event, UOR, Unconventional Oil Russia Technology Conference, is returning for its second year. The 2nd UOR will take place on the 21st May 2015 in Moscow at the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel. With the falling oil price, western sanctions and a devalued ruble, the landscape for the development of unconventional oil in Russia has changed significantly since the 1st UOR back in May 2014. Although challenging times lay ahead for this sector, developing unconventional oil is still a key target for the Russian government and operators. GazpromNeft Khantos have continued to develop their unconventional reserves and have recently completed the first two test wells drilled in the South Priobskoe field to explore reserves in the Bazhenov, with both wells being hydraulically fractured, and Surgutneftegaz have hinted that they will be willing to share their in house knowledge and best practices should the western sanctions persist. The 2nd UOR will evolve with the challenging times we face in our industry, and will provide a great platform for Russian operators, service companies and technology vendors to meet, interact and share best practices for developing unconventional oil fields in Russia.
