  • 3.3 Billion will be Spent on the Study of Oil and Gas Areas of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug

Geological work to be completed in 2025

Federal State Budgetary Institution “All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Petroleum Institute” announced purchases for field seismic surveys for regional geological study of the subsoil. The work will be carried out on the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. The maximum cost of projects is estimated at almost 3.3 billion rubles.

VNIGNI plans to find a contractor who will carry out field work to study the geological structure of the sedimentary cover, clarify the boundaries of the distribution of Jurassic-Cretaceous oil and gas complexes and the weathering crust along the pre-Jurassic formations of the Karabashsky-3 section of the Karabashsky oil and gas promising zone. The area of the field work area is about 3.1 square meters. km.

“The scheme and coordinates of the profiles are agreed with the customer additionally at the stage of drawing up project documentation. The total number of designed profiles is at least 45,” the procurement documents say.

At this section, the contractor will have to carry out experimental and methodological work using the technology of the common depth point method – CDP-2D, as well as topographic and geodetic work to ensure a full CDP-2D survey. In addition, the executor of the state contract will be required to digitize the express processing of primary materials in the process of field work. The target survey interval is 1.4–2.7 km, and the recommended interval is 4 km.

According to the terms of the open tender, the contractor starts execution from the date of conclusion of the contract. The contractor should complete work on this section in the second quarter of 2025. The maximum value of the contract is about 1.8 billion rubles.

In addition, the research institute is looking for an organization that will carry out similar work on the territory of the Karabashsky-4 section of the Karabash oil and gas promising zone. The area of this field work area is about 2.51 square meters. km. The target survey interval should be 1.4 – 2.6 km, while the recommended figure is 3 km.

“The scheme and coordinates of the profiles are agreed with the customer additionally at the stage of drawing up project documentation. The total number of designed profiles is at least 30. It is possible to adjust the position of the design profiles in the process of performing field work in the event of objective circumstances that make it impossible to carry out work along the design coordinates,” the tender documentation says.

About 1.5 billion rubles were allocated for the implementation of this project. It is planned to complete seismic exploration in this area by June 30, 2025.
