  • 60 Billion Cubic Meters of Gas are Planned to Be Produced in Kazakhstan in 2024

    In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Gas and Gas Supply,” the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with JSC NC “QazaqGaz” has formed a forecast gas balance until 2030. This was reported by the Kazinform agency with reference to the press service of the department.

    According to the ministry, more than 85% of gas production in Kazakhstan is provided by the Tengiz (27%), Karachaganak (38%) and Kashagan (20%) projects.

    “In 2023, gas production in the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 59.063 billion m3, including large fields Tengiz – 16.009 billion m3, Karachaganak – 22.385 billion m3, Kashagan – 11.856 billion m3 and others – 8.813 billion m3. The pace of development of the gas industry is confirmed by the fact that gas production in the country has been growing steadily in recent years. Thus, according to the forecast gas balance in 2024, gas production is expected to increase to 60.456 billion m3″, – the Ministry of Energy reported.

    As the department explained, the commercial gas production plan for 2024 is 28.054 billion m3. According to the forecast gas balance, current domestic consumption in 2024 is 20.9 billion m3.
