  • A Framework Agreement Was Signed with BP on Operations on the Caspian Shelf of Azerbaijan

    The total cost of services is estimated at about $ 300 million.

    The framework agreement on underwater work in the territorial waters of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea was signed in Milan on July 12, 2024. This was reported in the Italian company Saipem.

    The document was signed between the BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited and the consortium, which includes Saipem Contracting Netherlands, Bos Shelf (company Saipem and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Socar) and BOS Shelf INTERNATIONAL FZCO.

    The work will be involved in the SCV Khankenodi vessel (belongs to the Shah Deniz consortium). Saipem will manage the vessel and provide the crew to carry out marine work at the Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Guneshi deposits off the coast of Azerbaijan. The responsibility of the consortium includes the design, purchase, construction and installation of the entire underwater infrastructure, as well as maintenance throughout the entire life of the facility. The total cost of services is estimated at about $ 300 million, of which Saipem will have $ 250 million.

    The validity of the agreement will be 3 years with the possibility of extending for another two years.

    Saipem has been working in the region since the late 1990s. In 2016, Saipem was entrusted with SCV Hankendi operational management of the SCV Hankendi vessel to carry out marine work at the Shah Deniz Deposit under the framework agreement signed with BP.

    The Italian company Saipem is one of the largest suppliers of drilling services, as well as a specialist in the field of design, supply, construction and installation of pipelines and complex engineering projects for the oil and gas industry. The company has experience in harsh climatic conditions, in remote areas and in deep -sea plots at sea. Saipem provides a full range of contracts for contracts, including design, purchase, material and technical support, construction and installation of turnkey equipment at shelf deposits.
