An Agreement to Develop the Changule Oil Field Will be Signed Soon
The head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said that the contract for the development of the Changuleh oil field will be signed soon, Shana reports.
The agreement to develop the Chengule oil field, which has reserves of 3.2 billion barrels of oil, aims to produce 60,000 barrels of oil per day in the first phase, Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr said.
According to the official, more than $1.3 billion will be invested to implement the mentioned project.
Based on the deal, the contractor intends to drill 18 production wells, two appraisal wells, two wastewater disposal wells and two well repairs, construct well structures and flow pipelines, and construct crude oil and associated petroleum gas processing and transportation facilities.
Situated near the Azhar oil field in the Anaran block, Changuleh is shared with Iraq’s Badra oil field. The field was initially considered independent, but analysis of 3D seismic data confirmed its joint status.
Changule is estimated to require an investment of $2.2 billion to fully develop, according to NIOC.
So far, the field has undergone 3D seismic testing, well locating and infrastructure activities such as clearance and access road construction.
