Bashneft Has Processed More Than 30% of the Oil Waste of the “Historical Heritage”
Bashneft (part of Rosneft) in 2020-2022 recycled more than 30% of the oil waste of the “historical heritage”. For three years, about 570 thousand tons of oil sludge have been disposed of.
Caring for the environment is an integral part of the corporate culture and one of the key principles of Rosneft’s operations. As part of the Rosneft 2030 strategy, the Company is improving approaches to environmental management, increasing the scale of environmental activities and securing the necessary investments for this. The company aims to achieve a leadership position in the field of minimizing the impact on the environment and environmental friendliness of production.
Bashneft’s environmental investments make it possible to significantly reduce the amount of “historical heritage” oil sludge annually and ensure the full disposal of newly generated waste as a result of production activities.
Utilization is carried out at specialized sites using modern technologies that have passed the state environmental review.
In addition to processing oil sludge, Bashneft is actively working on land reclamation, which includes the complete restoration of the fertile layer. For three years, the company has reclaimed 30 hectares of land.
