Bashneft Replenished Oil And Gas Reserves By 135% In 2023
Bashneft (part of the Rosneft structure) in 2023, due to successful geological exploration, increased hydrocarbon reserves by 24.4 million tons of oil equivalent, the production replacement rate with reserves was 135%.
Every year, Bashneft ensures full replenishment of liquid hydrocarbon production due to the increase in reserves. In this way, the company effectively fulfills its tasks to ensure the fuel security of the republic and the country, and also extends the life of mature fields in Bashkortostan.
Based on the results of drilling prospecting, appraisal, exploration and production wells, Bashneft geologists in 2023 discovered 32 new oil deposits in developing fields located mainly in the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.
Over the past 5 years, Bashneft specialists have discovered 7 oil fields and 298 new oil deposits in developing fields, most of which are located on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The use of highly effective geological and technical measures and the introduction of modern technologies for enhanced oil recovery allowed for a large-scale revaluation of the reserves of the company’s mature fields.
In total, during the period from 2019 to 2023, Bashneft increased its industrial oil and gas reserves in the amount of more than 170 million tons of oil equivalent.
Increasing the efficiency of reserve replenishment is one of the key elements of Rosneft’s development strategy. The company annually replaces at least 100% of produced hydrocarbons.
