  • Bashneft: Replenishes Oil Reserves by 305% in 2021

ANK Bashneft (part of the Rosneft Oil Company) in 2021 increased its AB1C1 oil reserves by 43.2 million tons in 2021 through exploration, new acquisitions and reassessment of the reserves of producing fields, which made it possible to replenish annual production by 305% .

Bashneft’s systematic work to build up its resource base is carried out as part of Rosneft’s strategy aimed at 100% replenishment of liquid hydrocarbon production by increasing reserves.

Thanks to the drilling of appraisal, exploration and production wells, as well as the deepening of previously drilled wells, the company increased its reserves by 11.6 million tons. Another 31.4 million tons were brought by the results of calculating the reserves of the unique Arlanskoye field and the revision of the oil recovery factor due to improved development technologies.

In 2021, Bashneft received a license to develop the Bakalinskoye field with recoverable reserves of about 0.5 million tons of C1 and C2 categories. Also, last year, Bashneft specialists discovered 100 new productive deposits in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Khanty-Mansiysk and Nenets Autonomous Districts, and the Orenburg Region. The recoverable reserves at the listed deposits amounted to more than 6 mmtoe.
