  • Belarus Wants to Expand Its Presence in Russia in the Oilfield Services Market

Belarusian oil companies intend to expand their presence in the oilfield services market in Russia, said Alexander Lyakhov, General Director of the Belorusneft production association.

We have our own technologies that are adapted to work both in Belarus and in Russia. In recent decades, we have been actively studying the world experience, working on it in our geological conditions. And now, during the sanctions period, we are actively promoting the service sector in the Russian market. We are in demand and needed we feel it and expand our presence, Belta news agency quotes the CEO as saying.

He stressed that Belarusian oilmen are open for dialogue with their Russian colleagues.

Russia today is one of the largest countries in the world in oil and gas production, and, of course, there are large vertically integrated companies such as Gazprom Group, Rosneft and others, and we are actively working with them in terms of promoting our technologies to their market and cooperation in the development of hard-to-recover stocks, Lyakhov said.

He also recalled that Belorusneft has a mining project in Russia.

This year, the level of oil and gas production in this project will already be comparable to the level of production at Belarusian fields. This is also about 2 million tons of oil equivalent, Lyakhov said.

He added that the competencies of Belarusian oilmen are in demand on other continents. Thus, Belorusneft has been present on the Latin American market since 2006.

We continue to work in countries such as Venezuela and Ecuador, and this shows that over 15 years we have confirmed our viability and intention to develop further, Lyakhov said.

Various options are also being considered on the African continent, the future will show the possibility of their implementation, the CEO said.

The Belorusneft Production Association was established in 1966. The company conducts prospecting, exploration and development of oil fields, drilling wells, production of oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus, and works in the oil sector of other countries.
