Belorusneft Plans to Reach 280 Thousand Meters of Annual Rock Penetration by 2030
The company is constantly working to improve the oil production process, discovering and adapting the latest methods and technologies to the characteristics of the Belarusian region. The main emphasis is on the so-called “difficult” meters of rocks, hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves. And the company is demonstrating serious progress in this direction.
“If previously we drilled about 92 thousand meters of rock with 14 drilling teams, now with the same team we drilled 220 thousand meters. The multiple increase was achieved by changes in approaches to work: somewhere innovation required capital investment, somewhere it required motivation for workers This is also the transformation of third-party contracting organizations for the mining and geological section of the Belarusian region. These measures still have an impact on the growth of penetration. Thus, without changing the number of crews and with an increase in the commercial drilling speed, SUBR ensured an increase in annual penetration from 198 thousand 890 m. 2022 to 222 thousand 34 m in 2023,” Denis Vorobiev gave an example.
Plans for the future are even more ambitious: by 2030, the target has been set at 280 thousand meters of excavation.
“Already now we see that we are capable of this task. The company has launched mechanisms. Not only drillers need to get involved in the work – the entire conveyor cycle of contractors should be aimed at reducing the cost of work and deadlines: we are talking about the transport unit, the rig management, UPNPiRS. That is, there must be a conglomerate, each of the links of which will make every effort to speed up the execution of operations for NGDU Rechitsaneft and the Central Office of the company,” emphasized the Deputy General Director.
The production association “Belorusneft” was created in 1966. The company searches, explores and develops oil fields, drills wells, produces oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus, and works in the oil sector of other countries.
