  • “Belorusneft”: the Increase in Recoverable Reserves of Black Gold over 5 Years Amounted to Almost 9 Million Tons

    The increase in recoverable oil reserves for 2018-2022 amounted to almost 9 million tons. Such data were announced to journalists by the Deputy General Director of Belorusneft for Geology Petr Povzhik on the eve of the Day of Oil, Gas and Fuel Industry Workers, BELTA has learned.

    Separately, Petr Povzhik noted the uniqueness of filming on Rechitskaya and Ostashkovichskaya squares, conducted in 2022-2023. They are made in difficult surface conditions associated with the developed infrastructure of the region and farmland.

    In general, the success of geological exploration work amounted to 81%. For 5 years, 45 exploration wells have been drilled in six districts of the region. Thus, the number of drilled prospecting and exploratory wells has grown to 14 per year, and the penetration rate has risen to 52,000 meters. “Research is being carried out in Rechitsa, Khoiniki, Svetlogorsk, Kalinkovichi, Zhlobin, Braginsky districts. As a result, the increase in recoverable reserves for 2018-2022 amounted to almost 9 million tons. 9 new oil fields and 32 new deposits were discovered,” said Petr Povzhik. The new objects of this year – the field and the deposit – also testify to the competent work of the company’s specialists.

    The plans include a comprehensive study of the Maysko-Makeevsko-Dneprovskaya area. This is more than 1.2 thousand square meters. km of territory. It is located in unique geographical conditions, including the Republican biological reserve “Dnepro-Sozhsky” in the Loevsky district.

    The production association “Belorusneft” was founded in 1966. The enterprise conducts search, exploration and development of oil fields, drilling of wells, production of oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus, works in the oil sector of other countries.
