BP Does Not Need Additional Oil and Gas Resources in the US
British energy BP does not need new oil and gas resources in the United States, said company CEO Murray Ashinkloss, commenting on media reports about possible new projects in this region.
On Monday, Reuters, citing sources, wrote that BP is considering the possibility of creating joint ventures to increase shale gas production in the United States.
“We don’t need resources (oil and gas – ed.) in the United States. We have a lot of resources that are very high quality and have incredible growth rates, not inferior to what some competitors have achieved,” Ashinkloss told Reuters.
Also commenting on the agency’s report that BP is seeking to create joint ventures in American onshore natural gas fields, he said that “these rumors in the press are not true,” referring to BP’s shale business.
BP is a British company and one of the six largest oil and gas corporations in the world. Founded in 1909.
