  • BP: Drills Second Exploration Well in Shallow Waters of the Absheron Archipelago

    BP has started drilling a second exploration well in the shallow waters of the Absheron archipelago in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The works are carried out using the Satti jack-up floating drilling rig.

    Experts are working in the western section of the contract area, the well depth will be 4,400 meters.

    The drilling work is expected to take four months. “Then the information about the well will be analyzed. If it is necessary to carry out appraisal work, to collect additional information about the reservoir, drilling work will take one more month, “Interfax-Azerbaijan quotes the company’s message.

    The drilling point of the second well is located in the west of the contract area, 1.5 km from the coast at a sea depth of 7 meters.
