  • British Oil and Gas Company Tullow Will Focus on Production Assets in Africa

Tullow, an oil and gas company based in Tullow, Ireland and headquartered in London, said it has received approval from the Gabon government to extend several of its licenses in Gabon until 2046.

Tullow’s activities in Gabon include exploration, development and production.

The license extension adds value to Tullow’s resource base by adding about 5 million barrels of net 2P reserves, which will provide approximately 100% replacement of 2P reserves in Gabon this year, the company said.

The extensions reflect the future reserve and resource potential of the Gabonese assets and the longevity of the Chatamba facilities as a primary hub for Tullow.

Tullow’s production in Gabon comes from a portfolio of more than 20 onshore and offshore fields, according to the company’s website. In 2022, Tullow’s net production from assets in Gabon was about 14,900 b/d.
