Caspian Technical Conference and Exhibition: Obtains Ministry of Energy Official Support
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is delighted to announce that this year’s Caspian Technical Conference and Exhibition has obtained the official support of the Ministry of Energy, and that Natig Aliyev, Minister of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been invited to address the conference at the opening ceremony, along with Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Ministers Aliyev and Jabbarov have been invited to make keynote speeches on the opening day of the conference, which will take place 4–6 November 2015, in Baku. They will be joined on the podium by high-profile speakers invited from the Azeri National Academy of Sciences, SOCAR, BP, TOTAL, SEG, KMG and Chevron.
Hosted by SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic), and co-hosted by BP, the event enjoys the support of both the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Education in Azerbaijan. The conference will feature three high-level panel sessions addressing the most topical trends, challenges, and opportunities facing the Caspian oil and gas industry, including:
– Gas Development
– Managing Risk and Performance—Mega Projects
– Industry Insights and Experience in Developing National Capability
There will also be a busy technical programme consisting of 18 sessions covering a broad range of technical disciplines, with the goal of providing a platform for discussion of the technical opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned so far in the region. Disciplines covered include:
– Drilling and completions
– Reservoir description and dynamics
– Projects, facilities, and construction
– Production and operations
– Health, safety, security, environment, and social responsibility
– Management and information
The Fairmont Hotel, Flame Towers in Baku is the venue for the conference and exhibition, with over 700 oil and gas professionals from IOCs and NOCs, as well as government representatives, service companies, scientists, and others expected to attend and contribute. Apart from SOCAR and BP, sponsors include Baker Hughes, Caspian Geophysical, Chevron, ENGIE, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, INPEX, Nobel Oil, Petronas, Schlumberger, Statoil, TCO, Total and UKTI.
