Celebrating 20 years of BG in Brazil

In 2014 BG Brasil is proud to celebrate 20 years of history. It has been a period of learning and achievement. We have grown with Brazil: and are now the leading private oil and gas producer in the country. We have achieved record production of 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day, only counting BG Brasil’s share in the pre-salt exploration blocks operated by Petrobras in the Santos Basin.

We are striving to build a long-term legacy for society through our social investments, which include scientific education programmes in public schools. We are also investing in research and development initiatives through partnerships with Brazilian universities and companies, to generate technological innovation to help meet the industry’s challenges and secure even better results for the country.

Over US$8 billion has been invested since 1994 and we are currently investing around US$3 billion a year. Our presence in the Barreirinhas Basin, as a result of acquiring 10 blocks as operator in 2013, further enhances our investment in Brazil.  We will continue growing in a socially responsible way, collaborating with technical expertise, as has been the case in the last two decades. 

This is a special moment for BG Brasil and we would like to share it with you. Our history is told in a time line, book and videos, which have been specially released for the occasion and are available below.
