Founded in 2001, Centek Group has rapidly become the leading innovator in centraliser design and manufacture. The Centek S2 centraliser is revolutionary in its design as it is a one piece bow spring centraliser with none of the disadvantages of traditional multi-part bow spring centralisers. The Centek S2 provides the stand-off and flexibility of a bow spring, but due to its unique construction it offers substantial robustness and strength. The Centek S2 is rapidly becoming the first choice for far reach deviated wells.
Centek Group can now boast unrivalled success in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Russia/CIS, Europe, the Far East and Australia. The low profile, low torque Centek S2 offers vastly superior torque and drag reduction due to an extremely low coefficient of friction and it can be used successfully in either open or cased hole applications. Centek now offers the UROS centralizer for underreamed wells where the high points of the bows are offset alternately which significantly reduces drag without reducing strength or centralizing capability. Centek is also enjoying success with its Itsfu Auto Fill Sub which provides controlled drill string filling, preventing hazardous spillage of well drilling fluids onto the rig floor.
In addition to UK and US facilities, Centek products are also available through Centek’s worldwide network.
Centek manufactures for the following applications;
• Under-reamed sections in the UK, Norway, worldwide as required
• Far reach ERD wells, worldwide
• Highly deviated/ horizontal wells, worldwide
• Unconsolidated low formation pressure sections
• Vertical wells
• OH Completions
• Sand Screen completions
• Tight Gas wells
• Tight Casing wells
Areas of Activity
Exploration, Appraisal and Development wells are the main operations carried out. This is both Onshore and Offshore and is inclusive of vertical, deviated, highly deviated, ERD Far Reach wells, J and S type and mainly horizontal. These well sectors cover both drilling and completion operations.
Key Projects
Centek work in all drilling theatres on a global basis, from Alaska to Argentina to Australia and most of the countries in between. Key customers are Shell, BP, BG, BHP, Apache, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, CNRL, ENI, EON Ruhr Gas, Enquest, Maersk, Talisman, Total, RAG, Baripetrol, Lukoil, Rosneft, ENI Russia, Petrom, RomGas, Statoil, Lundin, DONG. This list is extensive and is by no means complete but highlights some key customers we supply to. We work in 46 different countries and export 97% of all goods made.
Service Offering
The key objective is to offer the right solution, first time and every time, no matter what the well design is for casing / liner running or completions operations. The benefit of the Centek centralizer is in its uniqueness of design and performance. With no start or running forces yet high restoring forces the centralizer is an aid to getting to bottom virtually every time. It will offer greater stand off above all else when compared to conventional multi part or solid / rigid type units and due to its method of construction it does not fail, deform or break. If casing is pulled, due to well conditions, then returns are 100% which saves time and rig costs, additionally the unit can also be re-run saving the operator from expensive AFE’s.
