  • CNOOC Announced the Start of Production at Another Oil Field

    Chinese CNOOC Limited (a subsidiary of the oil and gas giant China National Offshore Oil Corporation, CNOOC) has begun production at an oil field located in the Bohai Gulf.
    The company’s press service reports this.

    Penglai 19-3 Oil Field

    • the project is located in the south-central Bohai Bay;
    • work is being carried out on subsoil area 5/10;
    • the average water depth in the subsoil area is about 30 m;
    • main production facilities include 2 wellhead platforms;
    • the field development program includes the commissioning of 130 wells, of which 43 are water injection wells;
    • plateau production is expected to be approximately 29.8 thousand barrels per day of crude oil in 2027;
    • project partners:
      – CNOOC Limited, operator with 51% participation interest,
      – the remaining 49% interest is held by ConocoPhillips China.

    Other oil projects of CNOOC

    Enping 18-6 Field

    On October 26, 2023, it became known that the company began production at the Enping 18-6 oil field in the South China Sea.
    As part of the development of the field, it is planned to put 15 wells into operation.
    Oil production at the Enping 18-6 field will reach a production plateau of 9.3 thousand barrels per day in 2024.
    In this project, CNOOC Limited is also the operator with a 100% participation interest.

    Kenli 6-1 field

    On September 25, 2023, work began on the Bozhong 28-2 South Oilfield Second Adjustment project in the Bohai Gulf.
    A total of 21 wells are planned to be put into operation, including 8 water injection wells.
    It is expected that in 2024, oil production at the shelf will be 7.6 thousand barrels per day.
