The company notes that this project is the first full-scale oil field of “green” design on the continental shelf of China, providing for low-carbon development throughout the entire process – from design and construction to production. This is also the first oil field in the South China Sea supplied with electricity from the shore.

As part of the project, CNOOC intends to achieve full extraction and utilization of associated petroleum gas (APG).

The company owns 100% of the shares of the project and is its operator.

Earlier, CNOOC’s subsidiary – CNOOC Limited – announced the start of production as part of the Enping 21-4 field development project. Average daily production is expected to be approximately 5.3 thousand boe p/d in 2025.
