  • CNPC is Discussing Hydrocarbon Production with Gazprom, Rosneft and Novatek

    China is trying to work with all parties, including Gazprom, to develop high-quality energy cooperation, Beijing said

    Chinese CNPC is discussing cooperation with Gazprom, Rosneft and Novatek in terms of hydrocarbon trading and pipeline expansion. This was stated by Vice President of CNPC Xie Jun during the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

    “Now we are discussing with Rosneft, Gazprom and Novatek issues on joint development of oil and gas fields, expanding the capabilities of pipeline projects and trading hydrocarbons,” he said.

    According to a representative of the Chinese company, Russia has rich oil and gas reserves, and China has a huge market for energy consumption.

    “I am confident that our energy cooperation will get better and better. China is committed to working with all parties, including Gazprom, to develop high-quality energy cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, so as to jointly promote healthy, stable and sustainable development gas industry,” he said.
