Construction of Oil Tanks is Underway in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra
The installation of metal structures of four new RVSP 20000 tanks began at the Karkateevy linear production and dispatch station of the Nefteyugansk Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate of Transneft Siberia JSC. Previously, the construction project received a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
Work on the construction of tank farm facilities at the Karkateev LPDS is carried out as part of the investment program of Transneft PJSC. The goal of the project is to increase the fleet capacity to ensure the preservation of the quality indicators of oil in the oil trunk pipeline system in accordance with the Process Flow Scheme, as well as to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the pipeline system.
The construction site is located in the Nefteyugansk region of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra. Currently, zero-cycle work has been completed at the LPDS site with the installation of foundations for all four RVSP 20,000 m3 tanks and the necessary piping.
“In accordance with the adopted technical solutions, all tanks will be equipped with aluminum pontoons, which are designed to reduce oil evaporation, and equipped with a modern foam fire extinguishing system,” said Ruslan Kozachuk, head of the comprehensive examination department of the Far Eastern branch of Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
A special paint coating will be applied to the internal and external surfaces of the tanks, which will protect the tanks from corrosion and, accordingly, extend their service life. To ensure environmental safety requirements, embankment slopes in the adjacent area will be reinforced with geogrid. High-density polyethylene film is used as an anti-filtration screen to protect the soil from possible negative impacts during the operation of the tanks.
The construction of shut-off valve units, process pipelines, a complete transformer substation, and rooms with electric valves will also take place at the Karkateevy LPDS site.
