Cumulative Oil Production of Samaraneftegaz Exceeded 1.3 Billion Tons
Samaraneftegaz (part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex) has produced 1.3 billion tons of oil since the start of production in 1936. High production performance was achieved through the creation of a developed infrastructure for oil and gas production, the use of modern technologies, and the development of new fields.
Samaraneftegaz is working on 136 fields in the Samara and Orenburg regions. Currently, the fields being put into development are being developed, including with the help of horizontal and directional wells, which allow increasing flow rates and oil recovery. Russian equipment of the new generation significantly shortens the well construction cycle and increases the time between overhauls. According to the results of 2022, Samaraneftegaz drilled about 200 thousand meters of rock, exceeding the figures for 2021 by almost 10%, the number of production wells completed by drilling increased by 50%, while the commercial drilling rate was 1,584 m/machine-month.
The increase in indicators was achieved due to the commissioning of additional drilling rigs, optimization of the terms of rigging works by an average of 15 days when drilling in clusters, as well as the introduction of new well construction technologies. The successful implementation of the development drilling program enabled the Samara oilmen to significantly increase additional oil production under the program for commissioning new wells.
Increasing the efficiency of reserves replacement and their consistent introduction into development is one of the key elements of the Rosneft Strategy. In order to expand the resource base and ensure sustainable production in the medium and long term, Samaraneftegaz takes an active part in auctions for the right to use subsoil and implements a program of geological exploration. In 2022 alone, 20 new hydrocarbon deposits were discovered at the fields under development, and the rate of replenishment of production with an increase in oil reserves reached 246%.
The company is implementing an extensive investment program to modernize production. During the reconstruction of existing and construction of new technological facilities, modern solutions and advanced equipment are used. In 2022, the enterprise built 16 km of high-voltage power lines, 120 km of pipelines, put into operation 49 oil and gas gathering facilities, two waterflooding and absorption system facilities. In addition, a major overhaul of 80 buildings and structures, roads, reservoirs, 90 km of pipelines was carried out.
New and modernized infrastructure facilities provide leading indicators for oil and gas production.
