Division of TAGRAS Holding Develops Multi-Stage Hydraulic Fracturing Technology
Specialists of the TAGRAS-RS division of the TAGRAS Holding have successfully carried out pilot work on multi-stage hydraulic fracturing (MSHF). All work was carried out without deviation from the technology, in compliance with the requirements for industrial and environmental safety and labor protection. The customer plans to continue implementing this technology in 2023.
Multi-stage hydraulic fracturing technology allows to increase the drainage area of well products. It is used in horizontal wells with low-permeability, heterogeneous reservoirs and consists in creating several fracture zones perpendicular to the horizontal wellbore. The number of stages of hydraulic fracturing depends on the length of the wellbore and directly affects the final productivity of the well.
The division’s specialists are constantly expanding the scope of hydraulic fracturing. The technology of hydro-sand-jet perforation and further local hydraulic fracturing at complex objects with behind-the-casing circulation and poor quality of cement stone in the productive part of the section, as well as with a close location of the WOC zone, has been mastered.
