Dmitry Patrushev: the Work of Rosnedra Allows Us to Guarantee Technological and Raw Material Sovereignty
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation noted that the department has developed a serious potential in the regulatory, legal and technical areas of domestic geological exploration.
The activities of Rosnedra in geological exploration allow for strategic planning and guarantee the technological and raw material sovereignty of Russia. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, whose speech was read out at the Rosnedra conference in honor of the 20th anniversary of the department.
“In recent years, Rosnedra has developed a serious potential in the regulatory, legal and technical spheres of domestic geological exploration,” he said. “This allows for strategic planning of the mineral resource base and guarantees the technological and raw material sovereignty of Russia.”
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Rosnedra is working on 190 geological exploration sites from Kaliningrad to the Far East. In addition, the department carries out all types of work: from deep drilling for oil and gas, to the use of drone exploration methods for solid minerals.
“Last year alone, 168 deposits were discovered. This is an expansion of the resource base and, in the future, an increase in state revenues,” Patrushev added.
