Drilling of Another Well Has Been Completed in the Nasiriya Field in Iraq
Drillers from the Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) completed drilling of oil production well 61, reaching a depth of 2096 meters in the Nasiriyah oil field in the Dhi Qar province.
The Iraqi Ministry of Oil reported this on September 4, 2023.
This is the 15th production well constructed by IDC under the contract signed with Dhi Qar Oil Company (DQOC).
A total of 20 oil wells will be built under the contract in partnership with Weatherford.
Drilling operations were carried out using an IDC 44 drilling rig with a power of 1000 hp.
In August 2023, Well 60 was completed at a depth of 2110 m using a 1000 HP IDC 46 drilling rig.
In March 2023, IDC completed drilling of the 3,509 meter EBS-H-18 well in the East Baghdad South field.
It was the first well the company completed as part of a 27-oil drilling project in the field east of southern Baghdad for China’s EBS in collaboration with COSL.
Drilling operations were carried out using an IDC 36 rig with a power of 1500 HP, using a horizontal drilling method at an inclination angle of 89 degrees.
The IDC fleet includes 43 drilling rigs, incl. 30 modern ones, with a power of 500 – 3000 hp.
23.45% of the total recoverable reserves have been produced at the Nasiriya field; production plateau is expected in 2025.
