We are proud to announce that during the next weeks Drillmec’s team will be completing the factory rig-up and commissioning activities of the MASS6000 land rig package headed to multinational renewable energy company Enel Green Power, the Italian based, global leader in geothermal drilling.
The renowned and well referenced MASS6000 is a 1500 hp land rig produced by Massarenti in the 70’s and 80’s.
The original and highly customized mast & subs delivered to Enel Green Power in 1986 has been revamped and modernized with a full set of brand new Drillmec components becoming now, after 34 years, a modern drilling rig with the highest safety and quality standards and technological content, ready to face new challenges and a whole new life cycle.
In details, Drillmec’s scope of work includes the following main activities and equipment:
• One Drillmec mod. GDM-1500 drawworks, 1500 HP AC, gear driven of the latest generation
• One Drillmec Electric Top Drive mod. ETD-350
• One Drillmec PCT-130 iron roughneck
• One Drillmec PCR
• One Drillmec Driller Cyber Cabin integrated with the latest Drillmec advanced monitoring system
• One customized Drillmec skidding system to move the rig’s unit along the wellhead longitudinal axis for an 18 meters distance
• Recertification and alignment of the whole package to the latest API standards and EU directives, being CE and ATEX certified.
The equipment has been successfully tested and accepted on 16th of March despite the adverse COVID-19 circumstances.
The rig will be ready to be moved and installed directly on the next jobsite located in the region of Tuscany in Italy as soon as the rig’s location will be accessible by our Client.
This project consolidates the long and fruitful cooperation between Drillmec and Enel Green Power, starting all the way back to 1977 at the time of Massarenti and Massarenti-Ballerini companies, constantly renewed and reinforced during the following years. Today Enel Green Power to have rigs fleet of nine Drillmec rigs between land, traditional mobile drilling & workover and HH-Series drilling rigs.
