ERIELL Group Signed a Long-term Contract With Yamal LNG
ERIELL Group has signed a 6-year contract with Yamal LNG OJSC for building 39 producing wells on a trunkey basis in the South Tambey field.
“This is the second long-term contract for well drilling in Yamal. We have accumulated the experience that will help us completely justify the confidence of our customers,” says Vitaly Dokunikhin, ERIELL Group CEO. “The South Tambey field is unique in its gas reserves, being one of the world’s largest gas fields. This field is located on the North-East coast of Yamal peninsula, it is partially submerged under the Gulf of Ob, which causes some difficulties in reaching target horizons. The vertical deviation from the point of entry into the productive formation top is up to 3,000 meters with vertical depths reaching 2,900 meters. Therefore, we intend to use the updated ZJ70 DBS drilling rig for our operations on Yamal LNG Project.
The work is anticipated to proceed under adverse climatic conditions, with winds of up to 23 m/sec and permanently changing direction in conjunction with extremely low temperatures which can drop to -55°С in winter. To be ready for the work in severe Arctic conditions, we have ordered additional equipment, such as fully covered derrick and wench equipment set, a 2-train travelling mechanism, a system for automatic delivery of drilling and casing pipes to the well and many others.”
Mobilization is scheduled for two stages. During the summer dispatch from Yamburg to Sabetta, 7 to 8 barges with drilling equipment and associated materials of up to 1,000 tons each are to be sent. The Arctic cover, footing and train guide frames of the rig, currently manufactured in China at Honghua plant, are expected to be shipped by icebreakers in autumn.
The well construction is scheduled for the period from 2015 to 2021.
