Eriell Group Starts Drilling Operations for Pechoraneft
Eriell Group started drilling activities within the framework of new project with OJSC Pechoraneft at Kolvinskoe Oilfield. The Company was selected as the prime contractor for construction of 32 producing horizontal and directional wells with complex well profiles and outsteps up to2,500 m.
Eriell Group will operate four sets of ZJ 70 DBS drilling rigs with lifting capacity of 450 tons, fitted with pad traversing mechanism. Rigs are equipped with advanced National Oilwell Varco top drive system with lifting capacity of 500 tons for safe well drilling. Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Eriell Group Russia Pavel Korchagin said, “Operations within Kolvinskoe Project framework will be implemented in complex geological and production conditions. Devonian and Silurian deposits are bedded at depth ca.4,200 meters. We will utilize state-of-the-art technologies for penetration into them, such as top drive system, mud cleaning from drill cuttings in four-stage equipment system, application of high-strength corrosion resistant drill pipes and reamers improving quality of separating wellbore with casing.”
He also added that salt and fresh water mud systems would be used to prevent accidents during drilling and mud injection into wellbore pay section. The said mud will be cleaned using Derrik units.
Eriell Group is planning to engage remote measurement with high-speed sensors in the course of the Project, making it possible to monitor well profile status in online mode.
Eriell Group is always paying special attention to environmental conservation. Mr. Korchagin specifically mentioned that for the purpose of minimizing environmental risks drilling would be performed by pitless method, using additional Coagulation & Flocculation Units (CFU) that separate waste drilling mud into clarified service water and cuttings. Forsazh-2M Unit will be used for solid domestic and industrial waste recycling.
Eriell Group has involved leading service companies for Project implementation: Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, and M-I Swaco.
Company specialists believe that application of all engineering solutions listed above will make it possible to increase work speed by approximately 25%.
