Eriell Group to Successfully Complete Northgas Project at the North Urengoy Oil & Gas Condensate Field
ERIELL Group has completed works under the Northgas project at the North Urengoy OGCF (Severo-Urengoyskoye OGCF) having successfully drilled six producing directional wells with horizontal section. In total, 25,467 m were drilled.
In February 2013, ERIELL was elected general contractor under this contract. The works were performed on a “turnkey” basis. To implement the project, ERIELL Group mobilized its ZJ50DBS drilling rig with the lifting capacity of 3,200 kN and Varco TDS11 top drive system, and such globally recognized companies as Schlumberger, M-I SWACO, and Smith Bits were engaged as contractors.
“We constructed the total of 6 directional wells with horizontal section under this project during 2013–2014″, says Vitaly Dokunikhin, Executive Director of ERIELL Group. “One of the wells was drilled without liner which was a true challenge and represents a unique achievement in construction of wells at the Valanginian deposits in this region”.
Despite works suspension due to weather conditions, the commercial drilling speed exceeded the planned one. Due to high rate of penetration, minimum idle time, and zero accident rate ERIELL was able to substantially reduce the well construction time.
