  • Exillon Energy Production Update

Exillon Energy plc is pleased to announce that well EWS-16 and well EWS-391 have successfully found oil on a northern extension of the EWS I field and on a north-western part of the East EWS I field.

    EWS – 16

The EWS-16 well, which was spudded on 25 December 2010, was drilled in 19 days on a northern extension of the EWS I field on a turn-key contract for a total consideration of $ 0.8 million. The well flowed water-free oil with a flow rate of 370 bbl/day. Whilst the average net oil pay within the EWS I field according to the Miller and Lents May 2010 reserves report is 5 m this new well has 17 m of net pay within the Jurassic, making it the thickest Jurassic net oil pay encountered within the EWS I field to date. The well reached a target depth within the Jurassic P reservoir at 1823 m.

The well was drilled directionally 975 m to the north from the existing well pad, and is now being connected to the existing production facilities.

    EWS – 391

The EWS-391 well, which was spudded on 25 December 2010, was drilled in 19 days on the north-western part of the East EWS I field on a turn-key contract for a total consideration of $ 0.8 million. The new well encountered producing Jurassic P reservoir at 1862 m. Results of wire line logging have indicated the presence of 4 m of net oil pay. Testing of the well is delayed as the well pad needed to be enlarged, and the rig needs to be demobilized and moved to a new position.

The well was drilled directionally 1030 m to the north-west from the existing well pad 30, and will be connected to existing production facilities upon completion of testing.

The Group continues to maintain 100% drilling success rate since 2006, which is the result of the continued application of 3D seismic combined with a thorough understanding of reservoir geology.
