  • Fields With Gas Reserves of 372 Billion Cubic Meters Will be Put Up for Auction in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug

These plans will be implemented over the next two years.

Large gas fields of the Nurma group in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District are planned to be put up for auction. Estimated trading dates are in 2023-2025.

Plans for the sale of sites are specified in the licensing program for hydrocarbon subsoil plots in the Arctic zone. The document of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia provides for projects and activities for the period up to 2035.

The Nurma group includes 3 oil and gas condensate fields. Among them, the document indicates Nurminskoye, Rostovtsevo and Sredneyamalskoye. According to the profile program, the total hydrocarbon reserves in all three areas are estimated at 372.3 billion cubic meters. m of gas and 64 million tons of oil, TASS reports.

In particular, the Nurminskoye field has the largest gas reserves – 223.4 billion cubic meters. m. At the same time, oil reserves in this area are estimated by experts at 0.7 million tons.

At the Rostovtsevskoye field, according to experts, it is possible to produce 84 billion cubic meters. m of gas and 61 million tons of oil. In addition, hydrocarbon reserves at the Sredneyamalskoye field amount to 65.3 billion cubic meters. m of gas and 2.1 million tons of oil.

The federal authorities are counting on the fact that the resource base of the fields can potentially ensure the loading of the Northern Sea Route. We add that earlier the program for licensing subsoil areas of hydrocarbon raw materials and solid minerals in the Arctic until 2035 was approved by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov. In total, these projects included 176 fields, 6 of which have hydrocarbon reserves.
