  • Future Wells of Rosneft at Samotlor Will be Connected by a Single Network

The project for the development of pads for three wells at the Samotlor field in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug was approved by the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia. The developer is Samotlorneftegaz JSC, the general designer is RN-Bashnipineft LLC. The news agency “Devon” learned about this from the message of the department.

The project documentation approved the construction of 23 production wells, as well as flowlines, connection points and three oil and gas gathering pipelines. They are designed for the extraction and transport of oil and gas emulsions.

All well pad facilities will be connected into a single technological scheme and controlled by automation, commented Pavel Peregudov, Chief Specialist of the Comprehensive Expertise Department of the Privolzhsky Branch of the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia. All data will be transferred to the automated process control system with the possibility of exchanging information with the automated workstation (AWS) of the operator.

The Samotlor field was discovered in 1965 in Yugra. Today it is one of the largest fields in the world and ranks first in Russia in terms of oil reserves. Its reserves are estimated at more than 7 billion tons. Samotlor belongs to the West Siberian oil and gas province.
