Gas Reserves at Gazprom’s Medvezhye Field May Be Classified As Hard-To-Recover
The development of hard-to-recover gas reserves along the Senone is very promising, interesting and profitable, noted the head of Rosnedra Evgeny Petrov.
The Russian government may include in the list of hard-to-recover reserves (TRIZ) the Senonian gas deposits developed by Gazprom at the Medvezhye field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. This was announced by the head of Rosnedra Evgeny Petrov during a session of the Yugra Economic Forum.
“You know that Gazprom at the Medvezhye [field] is actively developing senon in the Verkhne-Berezovskaya formation. And here, at the company’s initiative, a calculation is now being made to include senon as TRIZ at the disposal of the government,” he said. “Taking into account the existing infrastructure, it is TRIZ that is being developed gas through Senone is very promising, interesting and profitable. And we are now carrying out such work.”
According to Petrov, Rosnedra assessed the resource base and gas reserves in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region. The department prepared several development scenarios, which included hard-to-recover gas reserves. “But what result have we come to: we still need full-fledged work on the inventory of gas reserves, taking into account the new realities. Here we need to involve all the companies that operate in the region, primarily Gazprom and Novatek,” he noted.
The head of Rosnedra explained that it is necessary to carry out an inventory of profitable gas reserves in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region, taking into account the development of new logistics and infrastructure of the main fields. “The revaluation work has been done, but more detailed economic calculations are required precisely on the resource base that is on the balance sheet. And here it is necessary to create a large working group, as was done for the inventory of oil reserves,” Petrov emphasized.
