  • Gazprom Neft Agreed with MIPT on the Training of Hybrid Engineers

Gazprom Neft and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology announced the opening of a new master’s program that will train hybrid petroleum engineers who are versed in digitalization and modeling of oil and gas treatment technologies. This was reported by Gazprom Neft.

The new curriculum is designed to train multifunctional engineers – specialists in IT, physics and mathematics with in-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry.

During two years of study, future masters will study innovations in modern geology, oil prospecting and production technologies, infrastructure modeling and design programs, and other specialized disciplines.

“It is at the junction of fundamental science, specialized oil and gas disciplines and information technology that advanced solutions are born that allow you to get to the most complex hydrocarbon reserves. Creation of digital twins, accurate modeling of processes occurring deep underground – without this, the work of modern oilmen is simply impossible. Together with universities – With our partners, we train not just highly-demanded specialists, but people who in a few years will be at the forefront of Russian technological development,” said Alexey Vashkevich, Director of Technology Development at Gazprom Neft.

The company added that the training course includes paid internships at the fields and at Gazprom Neft scientific and educational centers.
