The partners plan to develop innovative solutions for the implementation of CCS (carbon capture and storage) projects. In addition, Gazprom Neft and Mitsui plan to develop comprehensive projects for the production of blue hydrogen, as well as the use of alternative fuels in sea and river transport.

Gazprom Neft is developing partnerships with Russian and international companies in the field of CO2 emissions reduction, hydrogen energy and fuel environmental friendliness. In 2021, Gazprom Neft entered into a number of agreements in these areas with major steel companies, and also announced the creation of a technology alliance in partnership with leaders in the aviation industry to develop jet fuel with a low carbon footprint.
