Gazprom Neft and the Tomsk Region Administration will Create a Technological Testing Ground for the Production of “Difficult” Oil
Gazprom Neft and the Tomsk Region Administration agreed to expand a joint project to create technologies for prospecting and developing pre-Jurassic deposits * . At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the document was signed by Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Management Committee, and Sergei Zhvachkin, Governor of the Tomsk Region.
Gazprom Neft, with the support of the Tomsk Region Administration, is implementing a large-scale Paleozoic project in the region, which is aimed at developing hydrocarbons from pre-Jurassic deposits. Its implementation will allow the company to annually extract up to 1.3 million tons of “difficult” oil in the region from 2025. In the future, Paleozoic strata can provide up to half of all production in the Tomsk region – about 10 million tons per year.
