  • Gazprom Neft Discovers New Field in Tomsk Oblast

Gazprom Neft has discovered a field in Tomsk Oblast with geological reserves of about 30 million tons of hydrocarbons. The discovery was the largest in the region over the past 5 years.

The new field, named “Nezdanny Mys”, is located in the Zapadno-Luginetsky license area in the Parabelsky district. The method of 3D seismic exploration, digital processing of geological data arrays and hydrodynamic models of deposits were used to search for hydrocarbons. Gazpromneft-Vostok will be the operator for the development of these reserves.

When exploring the Zapadno-Luginetsky license area, Gazprom Neft used the “Green Seismic” technology. By using compact transport for geological exploration, it was possible to save more than 800 thousand trees on a site with an area of 631 km².

“We are constantly looking for additional reserves to maintain stable operation of the enterprise, and the new field will help in the development of our assets in the region. Its discovery became possible thanks to the work of a professional team and the use of advanced geological exploration methods, which allowed not only to significantly reduce the research time, but also to improve the quality of the geological information obtained,” says Ivan Razdobudko, General Director of Gazpromneft-Vostok.
