Gazprom Neft Expands Perspective Production Center in the South-East of Yamal
Gazprom Neft is starting to study the Vostochno–Terel group of fields in the Yamalo–Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The company has received licenses for three sites that will become part of a large oil production cluster in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
The Vostochno–Terel group of deposits includes the Yuzhno–Kypakynsky, Kutymsky and Yuzhno–Lensky sections. They are located on an area of over 1000 square kilometers in the south–east of Yamal. The sites are poorly studied and highly autonomous: the nearest year-round highway is 105 km away, and the delivery of machinery and equipment is possible only on winter roads.
To clarify the resource base of the Vostochno–Terel deposits, it is planned to drill three exploration wells and retest existing ones. The new license areas are located next to the Remote Gazprom Neft group of fields, whose geological reserves exceed 148 million tons of oil. Gazpromneft–Noyabrskneftegaz will act as the operator of the project for the development of the Vostochno–Terel Group.
