Gazprom Neft Has Received Licenses for Three Sites in the South-East of Yamal
Gazprom Neft is starting to explore the Vostochno–Terel group of fields in the Yamalo–Nenets Autonomous Okrug – the company has received licenses for three sites that will become part of a large oil production cluster in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, its message says.
Gazpromneft–Noyabrskneftegaz will act as the operator of the project for the development of the Vostochno–Terel Group. The group includes the Yuzhno–Kypakynsky, Kutymsky and Yuzhno–Lensky sites, characterized by low exploration and high autonomy and located on an area of over 1 thousand square kilometers.
To clarify the resource base of the fields, the company plans to drill three exploration wells, as well as re–test existing ones. The new license areas are located next to a Remote group of Gazprom Neft fields with geological reserves of more than 148 million tons of oil.
According to Sergey Doktor, head of the Gazprom Neft Production Department, the implementation of the exploration program will allow the formation of a single oil and gas cluster and the introduction of new reserves of the Vostochno–Terel fields into development.
A remote group of fields unites Gazprom Neft assets located in the Purovsky and Krasnoselkupsky districts of the Yamalo–Nenets Autonomous Okrug into a single cluster. The Zapadno–Chatylkinskoye field is in the active stage of development, and exploration work continues at the Worgen site.
