  • Gazprom Neft Introduces Technological Start-Ups of Students and Young Scientists

Gazprom Neft has identified the finalists of the second stream of the accelerator of student projects Industries. The company will help implement dozens of initiatives of technology entrepreneurs who will have the opportunity to test and implement their developments in real production.

Students and young scientists from all over Russia have submitted more than 400 applications to the accelerator Industries. According to the results of the jury‘s assessments, 21 startups became graduates of the program. Developers will be able to conduct pilot tests of their products, and in the future, bring them to the industry market.

Some of the startups will be tested and implemented at Gazprom Neft enterprises. Among them is a plantbased reagent developed by the team of Kazan National Research Technological University to intensify production in mature fields. The company will test the technology of energy supply to infrastructure facilities using geothermal energy proposed by students of Tomsk Polytechnic University. Gazprom Neft will also evaluate the possibility of using a mobile installation to test the reliability of pile structures in the permafrost zone, created by a team of young engineers from Tyumen.

During the implementation of the acceleration program, the Industrix experts reviewed over 2,000 applications. More than 100 projects that have passed pilot tests in the company have become finalists. Some of the solutions were implemented at Gazprom Neft facilities and brought to the industry market in Russia and abroad.

Today, the company and the entire oil and gas industry face serious challenges. Oil production conditions have changed, the quality of reserves has decreased, and reservoir permeability has deteriorated, but despite the difficulties, we continue to increase production. This has become possible thanks to modern technologies, digital developments and, of course, the startups offered by young engineers and students. Working together with talented scientists helps to create and implement advanced solutions that will become an important tool for increasing the competitiveness of the entire fuel and energy complex in the future, says Anton Dzhalyabov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Management Board.
