Gazprom Neft is Developing the Infrastructure of Its Flagship Asset in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra
Gazpromneft-Khantos is increasing production capacity at the Alexander Zhagrin field. The company has put into operation a new complex, which will increase production at the field from 5.5 million to 8 million tons per year.
The new oil treatment unit will complement the existing infrastructure, which was launched at the asset in 2022. This equipment is designed to receive well production, separate oil from water, associated petroleum gas and other impurities, as well as its subsequent transportation through main oil pipelines. The throughput capacity of an oil treatment plant directly affects production volumes at the field.
The design and construction of the second stage of the oil treatment facility was carried out using 3D modeling and high standards for industrial and environmental safety. The field serves as a platform for testing new approaches, which are planned to be applied to other assets of the enterprise in the future.
“The Alexander Zhagrin field is a strategic asset of Gazprom Neft in Yugra, unique in terms of reserves and the scale of technological challenges. The field is characterized by a complex geological structure, some of the deposits are traditional, but there are also hard-to-recover reserves. It took only two years to prepare the field for industrial development, which is significantly faster than the industry average for the implementation of such complex projects. The key to rapid development was the strategy of efficient introduction of reserves into development and modern digital technologies, the use of which helped launch the infrastructure in the shortest possible time. The new complex will not only ensure production growth, but also begin the development of other assets of the Zima cluster,” Sergey Fedorov – General Director of Gazpromneft-Khantos.
