Gazprom Neft Opens Next-Generation Rotational Camp in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra
Gazprom Neft Builds Russia’s First Multifunctional Rotational Camp at an Autonomous Field in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra.
Gazprom Neft has created the first in Russia multifunctional rotational camp at an autonomous field in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra for the life, work, and recreation of employees at a level comparable to that of a modern metropolis. The opening ceremony of the complex was attended by Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Ruslan Kukharuk, Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra.
The multifunctional rotational camp was built at the Alexander Zhagrin field, located 500 kilometers from Khanty-Mansiysk. The building, with a total area of 12,500 square meters, includes residential and office areas, a two-story sports center, and dining and recreation areas.
For the company’s employees, a canteen with traditional meal service and a buffet system, 24-hour cafes, and a store have been opened. Employees at the fully autonomous field also have access to a movie theater, barbershop, massage room, spa area, library, and virtual reality center.
The camp provides individual residential modules equipped with a smart home system, climate control, and biodynamic lighting that simulates the natural light cycle to ensure proper rest. At the center of the complex is an atrium—an open space with ceilings twelve meters high. There are coffee areas and green spaces for relaxation and socializing. Conference rooms, offices, and meeting rooms are provided for individual and team work.
The rotational camp was constructed using frame technology—the building was assembled from pre-manufactured elements delivered to the autonomous site, which reduced the building footprint and construction time. The facility incorporates advanced solutions to ensure maximum environmental friendliness and high energy efficiency. Considering the long Siberian winters and short daylight hours, the building is equipped with facade lighting systems comprising 650 LED lamps and a partially heated roof.
The multifunctional complex will accommodate hundreds of specialists participating in the implementation of Gazprom Neft’s strategic project to develop a group of sites in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra and the Tyumen Region with a resource potential of approximately 500 million tonnes of oil. The core and fastest-growing asset of the new production center is the Alexander Zhagrin field.
“Today we are successfully finding solutions to overcome the technological and production challenges facing our country. However, it is clear that the main factor in the state’s competitiveness and the development of industry is people. We must create the best conditions to attract the best specialists to the industry. The first multifunctional complex in Russia changes the perception of rotational work in the Far North and shows that even in full autonomy, workers can have the comfort of a modern metropolis. Gazprom Neft’s approach to organizing life in autonomy will help achieve the company’s goals for developing the new production center in Yugra and will serve as a model for the entire industry, as well as increase the attractiveness of a career in the fuel and energy complex for the younger generation,” said Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
“Yugra is an important region that today makes a significant contribution to our country’s economy, ensuring its technological and resource sovereignty and its security. The conditions created today in the rotational camp once again highlight the social orientation of Gazprom Neft. Let this complex become a second home for employees—a place where they can gain strength and energy,” said Ruslan Kukharuk, Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra.
“Taking care of employees and creating a comfortable and safe environment for working at industrial sites, including fields, is one of the fundamental principles of our company. With the launch of the multifunctional complex at the Alexander Zhagrin field in Yugra, we are reaching a new level in organizing the lives of rotational workers in the Far North. And we are essentially shaping the image of what the oil and gas industry of the future can be. I am confident that providing such comfortable working conditions at fields will help attract top talent to implement the company’s strategic hydrocarbon production projects,” said Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft.
