  • Gazprom Neft Strengthens Cooperation with Tatarstan in the Development of Oil Production Technologies

Gazprom Neft and the Republic of Tatarstan signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of enhanced oil recovery technologies and the implementation of oil and gas projects. The document was signed by the chairman of the board of the company Alexander Dyukov and the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov.

The parties agreed to cooperate in the development of high-tech oil equipment in demand in the industry, as well as the creation of technological test sites in the Volga Federal District and Western Siberia for joint research. The document envisages expanding cooperation in the field of geological exploration of subsoil, production and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, development of the oil product supply system and a number of other areas.

Modern enhanced oil recovery techniques are a key tool for developing mature fields and hard oil reserves. The technologies will make it possible to extract significant reserves of hydrocarbons, the profitable production of which is impossible using existing solutions. The full-scale implementation of innovative methods of increasing oil recovery is hindered by their high cost and the need to develop Russian production of reagents and equipment.

During the implementation of pilot projects, Gazprom Neft has already confirmed the possibility of a 20% increase in oil recovery through the use of surfactant-polymer flooding technologies. Tatneft is one of the strategic partners of Gazprom Neft in the development of this area.

Gazprom Neft actively cooperates in many areas with enterprises of Tatarstan, including Tatneft and KAMAZ. The new agreement confirms our intention to strengthen our partnership with the republic. We will work together on one of the most important industry tasks – developing enhanced oil recovery technologies. Gazprom Neft and Tatarstan have experience in this area. By joining forces, we will be able to move faster from testing to widespread application of the Russian complex of solutions, which will increase the efficiency of development of mature oil fields. “

“The Republic of Tatarstan has its own experience in oil production, while Gazprom Neft has its own experience. Joint research will enable us to increase oil recovery. An important moment today is the consolidation of forces in the implementation of environmental safety programs. “
